Hawaii is a GREAT place to visit and THE best way is on a ship. You get to see several islands without using a plane!
Pride of America is the best and only Hawaiian based ship, take any other ship and you will be sailing for 4 - 5 days at sea. Not for me. The ship is not an NCL planned ship, they purchased the ship from a business that went out of business. We had a balcony room with 3 adults and boy was the room small. I think it was 140 square feet. However it was comfortable. The dining experience on NCL is what I like the best, you can eat anywhere you want at just about anytime. However, be prepared to wait a little bit to get your table or do like we did, get some snacks from the buffet line when it opens at 4pm, then take them to your balcony room and enjoy the Hawaiian view in peace and quiet. Then grab a dinner around 7pm, very little wait. All meals we had were good and the specialty restaurant LeBistro was very good. The breakfast buffet gets crazy so we opted to eat in the main dining room and that was fantastic. There the meal is sit down and you order what ever you want. We encountered people who complained bitterly about the service. KEEP THIS IN MIND!!!!! All of the employees are Americans as required and therefore you will get American service. Don\'t expect to waited on hand and foot. They did work their tails off to try to please you.
Remember, you are really here to see the beautiful Hawaiian Islands just keep that in mind. We did may excursions through NCL and enjoyed them all. Of course you can see the sights on your own, but using the cruise line you get the added protection that if your tour is late, the ship will still be waiting for you in port!!
