The MS Polarlys is a stylish ship, furnished with mahogany paneling, polished brass, and a choice selection of Norwegian contemporary art. You'll find sculptures and carvings in marble, exciting paintings and glass art, and an unparalleled view from almost every quarter of the ship.
The MS Finnmarken is a beautifully appointed ship, decorated in Art Nouveau style, reminiscent of the first Coastal Voyage ships in Old World elegance. Eleven Norwegian artists have put the finishing touches on the interior with drawings, watercolors, oil paintings, charcoal drawings, lithographs, and sculptures. There are 32 suites, some with a balcony and Jacuzzi. All cabins have safes, refrigerators, telephones, and TVs. The fitness center with saunas and a massage room is located on deck 8, as are the hair salon and the Internet café; the outdoor swimming pool is on deck 7. Several restaurants, bars, and indoor and outdoor cafés are available throughout the ship, as well as numerous panoramic lounges and observation areas.
The MS Midnatsol has a modern design, with an extensive use of Norwegian materials. The name Midnatsol means "Midnight Sun" and the ship's interior is dedicated to the Norwegian summer. Large glass expanses allow the outside light to enter, along with extraordinary views. She has a large two-story panoramic lounge on the two upper decks and a top deck with saunas, a gym, a bar, and a large sun deck with a small swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Deck 5 houses the main restaurant, cafés, an arcade with playroom, shops, and lounges. Deck 8 also has several lounges, including an Internet café, TV lounge, and a library. There are 23 beautifully appointed suites, some with a balcony. All cabins have telephones. The suites and inside cabins all have TVs.
The MS Trollfjord has a winter theme with a modern design, featuring Norwegian wood and stone throughout the interior. Large windows have been installed throughout the ship to let the light and scenery into the public areas, and even the elevators are made out of glass. The works of Norwegian artists decorate the ship's interior. The sauna and fitness area, as well as the small swimming pool and Jacuzzi, are located on the top deck, where passengers can enjoy the spectacular views from the large outdoor area or from the panoramic balcony. On board the MS Nordkapp, you're surrounded by artworks by the renowned Norwegian artist Karl Erik Harr. His dramatic themes from coastal culture make the ship a floating art gallery. There are beautifully appointed public areas, and fantastic views from all the panoramic lounges. She has been upgraded with four additional Junior Suites, Jacuzzis and an Internet café.
The ship is named after the founder of the Coastal fleet. The art on board is by Eva, Karl Erik, and Jan Harr. The work demonstrates an intimate knowledge of the shore-hugging landscape. The MS Vesteralen was named after the very first Coastal ship and is characterized by bright, cheerful public areas and lounges. You'll enjoy the view from the panoramic lounge and admire the collection of art featuring artists with links to the northern Norwegian landscape.
The long panorama lounge perched high above the deck ensures beautiful views of the ever changing coastal scenery. Refitted in 1995 the stylish atmosphere is enriched with paintings and wall hangings by renowned artists. With its first sailing in 1983, this ship is very much a working vessel, where on can really feel part of the traditional Hurtigruten experience.
It's only natural that art, decor, and colors inspired by the Northern Lights ("Nordlys") should characterize this ship. The woodwork, brass fittings, and textiles help make the public areas comfortable and elegant. Throughout the ship you'll find works by artists with roots in coastal Norway.
